Sustainability Impacts So Far…

Community Goals
- To improve safety and guest experience in and around Breckenridge’s Main Street and Riverwalk corridor
- To reduce vehicular traffic and improve delivery efficiency
- To reduce idle times and vehicle miles traveled to improve local air quality
The Breck E-Delivery Program is changing the world of first and last-mile delivery by helping the community optimize safety, congestion, and environmental goals with micromobility solutions. The Town of Breckenridge recognizes its responsibility to lead in mitigating climate change and exporting its ideas to leverage more significant change.
The Sustainable Breck Plan emphasizes reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and enabling the transition and adoption of electric vehicle (EV). Community involvement plays a critical role as the local residents, businesses, and environmental organizations work together to implement these initiatives. The Town of Breckenridge knows climate change threatens our natural environment, recreational opportunities, and way of life, which is why they have engaged the services of 106West Logistics.
The E-Delivery Program is an innovative approach to improving safety and guest experience along Main St and the Riverwalk corridor. Participating food and beverage distributors deliver products to a centralized delivery dock, and those goods are checked and transferred onto small, low-speed electric vehicles (LSEV) operated by 106West Logistics, which completes the last-mile delivery to end customers in the service area. By reducing the number of large delivery trucks in the downtown core, the program increases safety for pedestrians and bicyclists in these critical areas. Delivery efficiency is improved as distributors only need to make one stop rather than 10-20, saving them time and expense on their routes. Reduced driving and idling time of delivery trucks also improves local air quality and lowers GHG emissions as a direct result.
The E-Delivery Program will operate as a voluntary pilot for food and beverage distributors for about a year, during which time additional data and feedback will be gathered. The data collected during the pilot period will help inform any future phases of the program.
E-Delivery Services
We aim to enhance the everyday experience of the locals, businesses, distributors, and visitors enjoying Breckenridge. With our load and delivery service, we worked with the Town of Breckenridge to create one location for large delivery trucks to unload their products in a modular loading dock, and we deliver the products to restaurants, bars, and businesses using small, low-speed electric vehicles (LSEV).
Breck was experiencing the safety hazards of large delivery trucks congesting the Main St. and Riverwalk corridor and idling for hours daily. Through our e-delivery services, we can handle a full truckload carrying 1,200 cases in about 60 minutes while the truck is turned off at our dock, and we simultaneously deliver the products. This would normally take four to six hours while the truck moves throughout Breck, idling during each delivery stop, creating safety hazards for pedestrians walking to grab a coffee, go skiing, or simply enjoy the beauty of Breckenridge.
We love how simple, easy, and efficient they make delivering to accounts in Breckenridge.
This program has improved the experiences of both the people who live in Breck and visitors.
